TRAIL CONSTRUCTION 2019

Construction has wrapped up on the Greenway for this season and depending on the availability of funding will pick up again next year with finishing items such as trail head signage and benches.

Much was accomplished this year with the vast majority of work done by local contractors.  While SATA’s fiscal year won’t end until March 31 here is an estimation of the sources of funds:

Amount raised for the community by SATA Trails 2019 - 2020:

HRM                                                      $ 482,162             54.1%

Trans Canada Trail                               219,000              24.6% (non-government)

Province of NS                                    153,750               17.3%

SATA Trails                                              35,714               4.0% (non-government)

Total amount raised                       $890,626

Total non-government contribution $254,714     28.6%

Administrative costs amount to less than one tenth of one per cent with volunteers paying expenses out of pocket. Not included in the above is the value of work in kind and donated goods and services.

SATA volunteers are supporters are happy to have brought this improvement to the community.
